ClearDiagram ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy covers our marketing website, demo, authenticated web application, mobile application, API, MCP integration, and support channels (collectively, the "Service").

2. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

• Account information (email address, name) when you create a Pro account
• Payment information processed securely through Stripe (we do not store card numbers)
• Diagram data you create and save to our cloud service
• For eligible authenticated accounts that accepted this contract version, periodic Research Snapshots of saved and unsaved diagram state, including diagram content, title, revision, session, sequence, and timing metadata, approximately every 60 seconds while an eligible diagram session is in use
• Communications you send to us (support requests, feedback)

Automatically Collected Information

• Optional marketing-site analytics (pages visited, interactions, and session information) only after you choose to allow analytics
• Operational logs and error reports needed to secure, diagnose, and maintain the Service
• Device information (browser type, operating system, screen resolution)
• IP address and approximate location
• Cookies and similar tracking technologies

3. How We Use Your Information

• To provide, maintain, and improve the Service
• To process transactions and send related information
• To send you technical notices, updates, and support messages
• To monitor and analyze usage trends and preferences
• To study sequences of Research Snapshots and learn how Users build, revise, abandon, and save diagrams, including habits and workflow patterns, so we can design, evaluate, and improve the Service
• To detect, prevent, and address technical issues and fraud

4. AI and Your Data

When you use AI or speech features, the content needed to fulfill the request may be sent to the configured AI or speech provider. We do not intentionally use your diagrams or prompts to train our own models. Provider processing and retention are governed by our provider configuration and agreements; avoid submitting sensitive data that is not needed for your request.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:

• Core service providers: Stripe (payments), Firebase/Google Cloud (authentication and supporting infrastructure), and Cloudflare or other hosting providers
• AI and speech providers: configured model and speech services receive only the content needed to fulfill the feature you invoke
• Optional telemetry: Google Analytics and Sentry receive marketing usage or diagnostic data only after marketing-site analytics consent
• Restricted first-party research access: Research Snapshots are available only through restricted Company research or administrative systems to authorized personnel and service providers with an operational need
• Legal requirements: When required by law, subpoena, or government request
• Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets

6. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (TLS/SSL), encryption at rest, and secure authentication via Firebase Auth. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.

7. Data Retention

We may retain account data, User Content, saved versions, archived records, and Research Snapshots indefinitely for Service research, security, continuity, and improvement, subject to applicable law. Saving a diagram, archiving or restoring content, or closing an Account does not erase previously recorded Research Snapshots. A Pro diagram shows its 50 most recent saved versions in the default history view; that visible window is not a physical deletion or retention limit, and older versions may remain in retained archive history. Ordinary Account and diagram controls close or archive access rather than promise permanent erasure. Security logs, backups, billing records, support communications, and records subject to legal obligations may follow separate schedules. You may contact us about access, correction, restriction, portability, or erasure rights available under applicable law.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request erasure or restriction where required by applicable law; ordinary product controls close or archive access and do not by themselves promise physical erasure
• Object to or restrict processing of your data
• Request a portable copy of your data

9. Cookies

We use essential storage for authentication, security, and your explicit preferences. Google Analytics and marketing error telemetry stay off until you select “Allow analytics.” You can change that choice below; declining removes accessible Google Analytics cookies and prevents further marketing analytics on later page loads. This optional marketing choice is separate from authenticated first-party Research Snapshots governed by the accepted Service contract; declining optional analytics does not disable otherwise eligible Research Snapshot collection.

10. Children's Privacy

Our Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected such information, we will close or restrict the affected Account and handle the information as applicable law requires.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
